About

The Varsity Program is only available to athletes that sign up through their school team. Coaching and support are included for CNISSF division races and CNISSF State and Regional Championships. Athletes can purchase discounted IKON, Woodward, and Boreal season passes.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE TRAINING PACKAGE?

Your high school coach will work with ASC’s staff to determine a set number of training days for your team each season, usually between 7-10 days. These days, ASC secures training space in Boreal’s race arena, sets up and maintains training courses, and provides high-level coaching and feedback for athletes after each run. We also provide coaching at races and State Championships.

I’M HAVING TROUBLE PURCHASING THE BOREAL PASS.

If you are experiencing technical difficulties while buying a Boreal pass, please review our Purchasing Instructions document before contacting support.

HOW DO I PICK UP MY BOREAL PASS?

After you purchase your pass, you will receive a confirmation email from Boreal with instructions. Once purchased, bring this confirmation email to one of the kiosks at the mountain and follow the directions there to get your pass. If you do not receive the confirmation email (check your spam folder!), please reach out to Boreal directly.

CAN I BUY A DISCOUNTED SEASON PASS FOR A PARENT OR SIBLING?

ONLY registered ASC athletes can purchase a pass with the link. Our apologies that we cannot offer this savings to family members, friends, etc.

Unauthorized passes will be shut off.

WHAT IS MY TEAM’S TRAINING SCHEDULE?

Please reach out to your high school coach for questions about schedules and team specifics.

CAN PARENTS WATCH TRAINING?

Due to athlete safety requirements, only approved ASC and school coaches may be inside the race arena during training. If a parent is a Boreal pass or ticket holder, they may watch from outside the rope lines.

DO I NEED TO REGISTER AGAIN IF I’M ALREADY PART OF A REGULAR ASC TEAM?

Nope! If you’re already part of an ASC team like Devo Riders, Weekend Riders, or Full Time Riders, your high school training fees are waived. We will simply add your name to your school’s roster as well.

DO YOU OFFER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE?

Absolutely! ASC’s goal is to provide young people from all financial backgrounds with the opportunity to ski and snowboard. We have options for financial assistance, including payment plans and need-based scholarships.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?

Click here to view our refund policy. It has been amended to include details about COVID-19 cancellations.

Information For Coaches

REQUIREMENTS FOR COACHES

  • A letter from your Athletic Director (signed and on school letterhead) approving all staff as approved school coaches.
  • Each coach must sign ASC’s liability waiver.

COVID PROTOCOL FOR THE 2023-2024 SEASON

As of Sept. 1, 2023 we continue to not have Covid19 policies in place. However, we closely monitor the CDC’s suggestions, including guidance from the State of California and Nevada County. Should anything change, we will post updates here on our website.

BOREAL SEASON PASSES

Teams receive the following complimentary and discounted passes from Boreal per discipline:

  • 1-8 athletes: 1 comp pass + 1 paid pass at $290
  • 9+ athletes: 2 comp passes + 2 paid passes at $290

After we receive the letter from your A.D. and you have signed our waiver, your name will be added to a Google Spreadsheet shared between us and Boreal’s pass office. You will pick up your pass from one of the outside ticket windows. Let them know you are an ASC coach and are on the list. If you are receiving a paid pass, payment will be due at the time of pick-up, paid directly to Boreal at the ticket window. Ask for Cheyanne or Tyler if there are any problems with picking up passes.

ROSTERS

You will receive a link from our Program Administrator to a Google Sheet that contains your list of registered athletes. Rosters will be continually updated as registrations roll in.
