Super Sliders

About

This introduction to Nordic skiing includes fun activities and games to engage the youngsters, rewards them for getting out on their skis, and helps foster a love of the outdoor environment. Beginners are welcome and children are grouped by age and ability to maximize learning and fun.

Groups are led by expert staff assisted by parent volunteers. Skills are developed through games, adventure, and trail exploration.

PROGRAM

AGES: U6 (Born 2021, 2020), U8 (Born 2019, 2018), U10 (Born 2017, 2016)
Birth year 2021 or later. Minimum age of 4 years old by December 31, 2025

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

Sliders 1: Stride Only (U6, U8, U10, U12)
New to program/returning beginner 

-Learn the basics of stride skiing
-program designed to be a 1-3 year progression, depending on age and how much the athlete skis
-games and activities on skis 
-No poles, one pair of waxless XC stride skis needed
-Parents are required to volunteer for a minimum of 3 sessions during the season

COST: $425 
Birth years 2021-2016

Most Saturdays, 12/6/25- 3/28/26  9:30 AM-11:30 AM

Sliders 2: (was Learn To Skate): U8/U10/U12
COST:  $550

-Learn the basics of stride skiing with poles
-Learn the basics of skate skiing through early V1
-program designed to be a 1-2 year progression, depending on age and how much the athlete skis
-games and activities on skis 
-1 pair of waxless XC stride skis, 1 pair of xc skate skis, combi boots, and 1-2 pair of poles needed
–Parents are required to volunteer for a minimum of 3 sessions during the season

Birth years 2016, 2017, and 2018
We’ll consider experienced 2019 under exceptional circumstances, but we recommend waiting until age 7 to learn to skate.
