About
Our Junior Biathlon program introduces young athletes to the excitement of biathlon in a safe and fun environment. Using laser rifles instead of live ammunition, participants experience the unique challenge of combining skiing with target shooting. The laser rifles serve as an important stepping stone toward the use of firearms, while replicating the precision, focus, and skills needed to progress in the sport of biathlon.
Why Junior Biathlon?
Safe & Accessible: Laser rifles provide instant feedback with no live rounds or recoil.
Skill Building: Combines endurance, balance, and focus as athletes ski (or run) short loops before shooting at electronic targets.
Progression Pathway: A perfect first step into the sport of biathlon, preparing athletes to move to live ammunition .22 caliber competition as they grow.
Fun for All: Designed for ages 10 and up, with race formats and team relays that keep training exciting.
Program Highlights:
Age-appropriate distances and activities (short loops, relays, and fun competitions).
Focus on confidence, technique, and sportsmanship.
Year-round opportunities: ski in winter, run or roller ski in summer.
Builds a pipeline to advanced biathlon programming.
