Following the USBA standards for junior development, 9 training sessions are available each week and include 3 range sessions (see below for a typical training week). Athletes on the Comp team will learn elite biathlon techniques including endurance training, range procedure, rifle handling and accuracy, ski technique, strength training, and mental training for competition.
EXPECTATIONS
Athletes on the Comp team will be expected to attend practice regularly and bring a high level of focus and commitment to training sessions. Additionally, athletes should always operate in a safe and productive manner. Finally, athletes are expected to train in pursuit of the goal of representing ASC Biathlon at Youth and Junior World Team Trials in Anchorage, AK on Dec. 27th-30th as well as Biathlon National Championships at the end of March.
PREREQUISITES
Be a current member of the ASC Biathlon team (at any level) or have attended an Intro to Biathlon clinic within the last year.
Athletes must provide their own equipment, including rifles, ammunition, and skis.
