Following the USBA standards for junior development, 6 training sessions are available each week and include 2 range sessions (see below for a typical training week). Athletes on the Devo team will learn the foundation for elite biathlon techniques including endurance training, range procedure, rifle handling and accuracy, ski technique, strength training, and mental training for competition.
Athletes on the Devo team will be expected to attend practice regularly and bring a high level of focus and commitment to training sessions. Additionally, athletes should always operate in a safe and productive manner. Finally, athletes are expected to train in pursuit of the goal of one day representing ASC Biathlon at Youth and Junior World Team Trials. Athletes who show improvement, commitment, and performance at an elite level may be invited to Team Trials in Anchorage, AK Dec. 27th-30th, and/or US Biathlon Championships at the end of March.
Be a current member of the ASC Biathlon team (at any level) or have attended an Intro to Biathlon clinic within the last year.
Athletes must provide their own equipment, including rifles, ammunition, and skis.
